Senior year is right around the corner, and while your calendar is about to fill up with everything from college visits to football games and final dances, don’t forget one of the most fun and memorable parts of the year—your senior photos!

As a photographer who’s captured hundreds of seniors over the years, I’ve learned what really helps make the experience smooth, relaxed, and unforgettable. So here are 3 things you absolutely need to know about your senior photos before you book:

1. Book Early—Like, Early Early

Senior photo season fills up FAST. If you have a specific season in mind (hello, summer glow or fall colors!), don’t wait until school starts. My summer and early fall dates are some of the first to go because the weather is gorgeous, and you get your photos back in time for yearbook deadlines and graduation announcements.

💡 Pro Tip: Booking early also gives us time to plan your locations, outfits, and vibe—so your session feels totally “you.”

2. This Is About You—Not Just a Pretty Picture

Sure, we’ll capture gorgeous portraits. But this session is really about telling the story of who you are right now—your style, your smile, your energy, your passions. Whether that means bringing your guitar, showing off your sneaker collection, or just hanging out in a field of wildflowers—we’ll create something that feels authentic and FUN.

3. Outfits & Locations Matter (But Don’t Stress—I’ll Help!)
