I have known this girl since she was what, 8 years old? Maybe 10. A long time. It’s so weird to kids that you know start to grow up at a distance and the next time you see them they’re 17 and driving.

You wonder, when did you get to be so grown up, and have the ability to drive, and go do adult like things? STOP IT! Go back to being 10

This has got to be one of my favorite sessions of this year. I’m not just saying that. Truth be told, I was a little nervous about photographing this mama and her sweet family. Anna is a local author and I may or may not have geeked out a little too much the day she reached out to me to book a session.

I may have mentioned this before, but I LOVE when my friends reach out for me to photograph their family. Especially ones that I haven’t seen in forever! Katie is one of my sorority sisters from college and I haven’t seen her since her oldest was an infant.

I love trying new places with my families for their sessions. Lisa recommended Afton State Park for their upcoming family session and I was stoked to try it out! I hadn’t had time to check it out prior to their session due to being backed up from my eye surgery and various other things. I’m glad that Lisa and her family had went before to check it out and find good spots for their session!

I just love watching this little family grow over the years that they have been my clients. Little Miss C wasn’t in the picture when I took their first family picture and the boys have grown so much since that first family session with me 5 years ago! I seriously could not have asked for a nicer evening than the one I spent with the Wroten family at Whitetail woods! Joleen’s parents were visiting for a bit late in September and she thought it’d be a perfect opportunity to grab some photos with them while they were here.
