Inspiration for a beautiful life
Brook is a great friend of one the seniors I photographed last year, and it was so much fun hanging out with her, her step-mom, Taylor and sister- who I totally thought she was much older than Brook, but I was wrong! I hadn’t done a senior session at Lebanon in the summer time in a long time, so it was kind of fun to go back there and find some fun new spots to take my seniors.
Brook arrived dressed for summer in a stylish, flowy sundress adorned with vibrant colors that echoed the lush greenery around her. The lightweight fabric danced with the breeze, perfectly complementing the carefree spirit of summer. She paired the dress with cute sandals and delicate accessories, striking the right balance between casual and chic. I always encourage seniors to choose outfits that make them feel comfortable and confident, and Brook’s choice was spot on! I also loved the 90’s vibe she brought with her other outfits, including pink colored Chucks!

Another year with the Mischke family! I see Allesha and most of her men folk on a regular basis through a boys book club we are both apart of, but it doesn’t hit me until their family picture time, that these boys are growing and becoming more mature. Ben was just a little guy when I started photographing their family and now look at him! He’s half the size of his dad! And Brad is a tall guy!

Sarah reached out to me in early spring to book a family session with her her family and in-laws, as a gift to her mother in-law for Mothers Day. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever. Also something the matriarch of the VanBenthusyen family would cherish for years to come.

The rain throughout the day threatened to postpone this extended family session with the Sodolka family. But it seemed to stay away for just enough time to get this family together. One plus to the threat of rain, we had the park practically to ourselves!

There’s something extra special about capturing moments for families who are not only wonderful clients but also dear friends. That’s exactly how I felt during my recent fall mini session with the Moe family—Jason, Melissa, Grayson, Elijah, Rowan, and the ever-adorable Joah (affectionately known as “Joah Moah”). Senior photo sessions are always exciting, but sometimes, a little chaos can make them even more memorable. That was certainly the case for Emily’s session in downtown Northfield. It was the first day of Defeat of Jesse James Days, one of the biggest events in town, and let’s just say I wasn’t fully prepared for the festival vibes to kick off so soon! I had thought the event started the following day, not on the day of Emily’s session. That little mix-up led to an unexpected twist in our plans, but one thing remained constant—Emily’s amazing energy, which kept the session fun and relaxed from start to finish.

I fell in love with taking pictures when my oldest was just a baby and would document all the little moments of him growing up. I turned my hobby into a full time job and I wouldn't change it for the world.
