Inspiration for a beautiful life
This year’s senior class has created so many fun opportunities to be creative as a photographer. I’ve done sessions with cars, sports equipment, fun props like wands and light sabers. For Quinn’s session it was planes! It was so cool to head to the small airport in Lakeville and use a small plane for some of his photos!
Also, this is my first winter senior session. And as you all know with Minnesota weather in general, it is unpredictable sometimes

Jessica reached out to me in December to do a couples session with her and her hubby in the Minnesota winter. At the time there wasn’t a stitch of snow on the ground and all I was thinking, uhhh maybe we wait until January? Maybe we’d get some snow by then. ?? The temps changed from freezing to basically spring weather from the end of December up to the day of their session, and I PRAYED hard that we just get a tiny bit of dusting to add a bit of magical dusting of snow on the pine trees. The night before session it snowed a tiny bit to answer my session prayers.

One of my favorite parts of my job, is working with all sorts of different families and members of those families. Including the fur babies. Jane, Ron, and Emily are my across the street neighbors. They are the most wonderful people and neighbors and we won the best neighbor lottery when they moved in across the street.
They are oh so kind and patient with my family, including my boys who love their puppers, and of course them too.
Along with their 3 pups ranging from small to big Kiwi, Duke and, Faleen respectively, we met at Whitetail Woods in Lakeville for their winter mini session. I had a blast hanging out with all of them and trying to get coordinate the puppers as well as the peoples.

These are my friends Robin and Nissa with their girls, Nora, Maggie and Hattie. And they’re moving to Belize in a few days!! They are going to be missionaries and will be working in at a children’s home down there for three years. And I cannot be more excited for them. They’ve been gathering support, packing and selling things since October and now it’s time for them to head out to be the hands and feet of God.
Nissa asked if I could do a session for her mom and dad to have of the girls and her parents. So of course I jumped at the opportunity to capture some sweet moments with Mimi and Papa before their daughter and family left on their journey to Belize.

There’s something extra special about capturing moments for families who are not only wonderful clients but also dear friends. That’s exactly how I felt during my recent fall mini session with the Moe family—Jason, Melissa, Grayson, Elijah, Rowan, and the ever-adorable Joah (affectionately known as “Joah Moah”). This sweet, fun-loving crew has been part of our church family for a couple of years, and getting to photograph them is always a treat.

Emily H.’s senior session was one for the books! I’ve had the privilege of photographing several members of her friend group this year, and when it was her turn, I knew we were going to have an amazing time. Senior photo sessions are always exciting, but sometimes, a little chaos can make them even more memorable. That was certainly the case for Emily’s session in downtown Northfield. It was the first day of Defeat of Jesse James Days, one of the biggest events in town, and let’s just say I wasn’t fully prepared for the festival vibes to kick off so soon! I had thought the event started the following day, not on the day of Emily’s session. That little mix-up led to an unexpected twist in our plans, but one thing remained constant—Emily’s amazing energy, which kept the session fun and relaxed from start to finish.

I fell in love with taking pictures when my oldest was just a baby and would document all the little moments of him growing up. I turned my hobby into a full time job and I wouldn't change it for the world.
